Locally Yours Market

Locally Yours Market is kicking off 2020 with a birthday celebration

Locally Yours Market will be celebrating its second birthday at the February market – and they’re going big to celebrate the occasion! The birthday market is taking place on Friday, 28 February and Saturday, 29 February at the Tramways Building in Port Elizabeth.

This month’s market is going to be extra special, as the market is celebrating its second birthday and introducing some awesome new stalls and initiatives, giving Port Elizabethans everything they would usually find at the monthly market and then some!

On Friday night, they’ll be a special student discount on various items, and market-goers can expect live entertainment from Joe van der Linden. You won’t want to miss the festivities on Saturday morning, as various spot prizes will be up for grabs. There’s also a sweet treat in store for those who attend Saturday’s market, as slices of a speciality cake baked by Merelda from mmmDelicious will be sold and proceeds donated to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL).

This month’s market will feature some of the Bay’s favourite local stalls, and we can expect to see some new vendors at the market, too.

Newbies include local leather brand African Soul Leather, girls’ clothing store African Sun and Shine, and Megan’s Herbs and Veggies.

You can also expect something new from the market’s popular vendors, including haloumi food options from Karoo Food Truck, Chinese food in addition to sushi from Sushi Braz, and homemade pies from Vossies Deli. Mustard Deli will also be launching their new range of vinaigrettes, including a gin and lime vinaigrette.

If you’ve visited the market before, you’ll know that the market does not charge an entrance fee. However, they do encourage shoppers to make a donation to the AACL (take a look at this Facebook post to see what donations Locally Yours is looking for).

With so much on offer, I’m looking forward to supporting local at the next Locally Yours Market! See you there?
