A week with African Extracts Rooibos Purifying Range

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I shared that I would be trying the African Extracts Rooibos Purifying Range and doing a blog on my week long experience with three products in the range. I haven’t had a strict skin care regime for a few years, and I felt that it was time to try something new. I asked around, and when I mentioned to friends that I was looking for good, budget-friendly skin care products, African Extracts Rooibos came up a few times. Because of its good reputation, I thought I’d try three products for a week to see whether this budget-friendly skin care range gives you bang for your buck.

For my week with African Extracts, I tried the following three products in the purifying range:

African Extracts Rooibos 3-in-1 wash, scrub and mask – R64.99 at Clicks

African Extracts Rooibos Purifying Toner – R60.49 at Clicks

African Extracts Rooibos Purifying Dual Action Moisturiser – R49.99 at Clicks

My morning and evening skin care routine started with the 3-in-1 wash, scrub and mask, using it as a wash and scrub. After I wet my face, I squeezed a little bit of the scrub onto my fingers and massaged in circular motions on face, and then rinsed with water. Next, I used the toner, applying it with a cotton wool pad and gently swiping across my nose and chin area. After cleansing and toning, I applied the moisturiser to my face and neck, using my ring finger to gently apply the moisturiser in circular motions.

As someone who has gone from good skin care products, to slacking off and only using a cleanser, I was happy to find a new skin care routine and good products that work! The toner and wash, scrub and mask were my favourite of the three. It left my skin feeling soft, and my skin looked fresh and bright. When I started using the three products, I had a few spots on my face, and they cleared within two days of using these new products. While it made my skin feel brand new, I did find that my skin was breaking out as normal, and it didn’t clear all of my blemishes. That being said, it may take longer than a week for a new product to completely clear up your skin (and I think my exceptions were a little bit too high!).

Overall, this product is affordable, gentle on skin, and it does a good job for what it’s worth! This African Extracts range is a must-have for ladies on a budget.
