The Blogging Bride Diaries: The Journey Begins

Not too long ago, I wrote a blog post on helpful online wedding planning tools you can use to help you plan your big day, featuring local wedding magazine Majestic Weddings. A few days later, I received an email from Petra Palframan, the editor of Majestic Weddings, thanking me for featuring the magazine in my blog post. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from her, and even more surprised when she asked if we could do a collaboration! I jumped at the opportunity to work with her because I’m a huge fan of her publication, as well as her website and mobile app! A week later, we were sitting in Seattle Coffee, drinking the best coffee in town and discussing our new project – The Blogging Bride Diaries.

When Petra first suggested the collaboration, my head was spinning with ideas. But then I started to panic because, let’s face it, I’m not going to be a picture-perfect bride with an exorbitant budget, walking down the aisle in a pricey, custom-made wedding gown. How could I, an ordinary bride-to-be, possibly collaborate with a glamorous wedding magazine? All my fears melted away when I met Petra, because I realized that we were both on the same page. We both wanted to develop a real blog series for real brides living in South Africa on how to organise a real wedding. And that was how The Blogging Bride Diaries was born!

Over the next nine months or so, you can expect to get the inside scoop on my wedding planning, from the very beginning, to the day we say ‘I do’. I’ll be sharing the journey with you, and showing you how easy it is to plan a wedding with Majestic Weddings!
